Push and pop

Lists are ordered sequences. LPUSH/RPUSH add; LPOP/RPOP remove.

RPUSH jobs "resize-2"
LRANGE jobs 0 -1
LPOP jobs

Blocking pops

Workers can wait for work with BLPOP (timeout in seconds).

BLPOP jobs 5

Trim length

Keep only the newest N items for activity feeds.

LPUSH recent:user:1 "post-9"
LTRIM recent:user:1 0 49

When to use lists

Simple queues and timelines. For heavier job systems, consider Redis Streams or a dedicated queue later.
